Part 5 of My Story: A Happy Ending

In my last post, I described how I decided to never let fear stop me from pursuing my calling: intuitive energy healing and readings.

I’m doing what I love and helping others in a meaningful and profound way.  If I let fear stop me, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

If I didn’t try things I never did before, I wouldn’t know the strength and breadth of my abilities.

I Am On The Express Train and I Am Not Getting Off

I know who I am and what I can do.  I am fearless and I really don’t care what other people think.

In my government career, I cared what others thought, but I always sought the truth.

Now I don’t care what others think and still seek the truth.

That’s why I call my taboo persona the “Passionate Truth Seeker.”

I am happier and more fulfilled now, and the changes that I have experienced in the past three years have been amazing.

My Heroine’s Journey Continues

I am on an amazing heroine’s journey and can’t wait to see what’s next.

I want to help others improve their lives and find the answers and guidance they are looking for.

My vision for their life is one full of magic, a place where they are in an active conversation with the universe.  They know how to use divine tools to get the answers they need.  And if they can’t do it for themselves, I can help them or find the right people to help them.  I had to find out the answers myself, but it doesn’t have to be so hard. Seek out the right healer and get the answers you need now.

You Must Follow Your Calling

I was a very unhappy person in the work world.  I had to carve my own niche and my place in it.  I know when you don’t do the work of your calling, it’s a miserable place to be. I don’t want anyone to go through that and you don’t have to.

It’s never too late to change your mind and to pursue your passions.  As long as you have time on earth, you have time!  Make the most of it!

I can truly empathize with the following challenges…

  • Finding your calling
  • Understanding your passion in life
  • Moving beyond obstacles that are stopping you, including fear and indecision
  • Getting to root of  a problem and overcoming it
  • Feeling misunderstood in the workplace
  • Being a creative thinker and not being appreciated for it, including being ignored and shut down because of it
  • Being a person who is easily bored
  • Not being able to be a sheep and listening blindly to authority, and
  • Struggling to identify the signs and messages from the universe on what to do next
  • Trying everything to heal a health issue but nothing works.

My work as a psychic medium and energy Healer helps people unlock stuck energy, obtain spiritual guidance, move into fearlessness and continue to learn and grow in an awakened state in a magical world.

Are you ready to face your fears and tackle those problems that you have been unable to resolve on your own and finally get the help you need?

I’m here for you.

Contact me and we’ll  figure out together how to get back on the path of true happiness and fulfillment.

Part 4 of My Story: A Powerful Decision to Go On

In my last blog post, I decided to put all my crazy experiences out there to the world.  It was so scary but I had this desire to share my stories with others.  I was afraid of being criticized, but that was unfounded because it never happened.  I made a big decision.

I decided to be fearless.

That’s right. My friends and peers admired me for my fearlessness.  I will try anything, and if someone asks me to do something and I never tried it, I will do it anyway.

And in the metaphysical world, I can do it.

Moving Through the Fear

A lot of people let fear stop them in everything, but especially with the spiritual or metaphysical. There’s so many people who are intrigued with Tarot, honing their intuition, connecting with their spirit team (get your free guide here) or curious about energy healing.  But fear stops them from exploring it, pushing their boundaries, taking classes or even just trying it for the first time.

And that is a tragedy.

I did see myself in a new light, but I was doing what I dreamed of and it was making me happy.

So how did I become fearless, you ask?

I felt the fear and kept moving.

Don’t let fear stop you.  Don’t let resistance stop you.  The fear is temporary and your new found gifts might conquer your fear, in fact it will.

This is the secret.  Feel the fear and keep moving, don’t stop.  The reward is bigger than the risk.  Trust me.  I am living proof of it.

Part 3 of My Story: Fear Almost Stopped Me From Pursuing My Passion

Facing My Fear aka Worrying About What Others Thought
In my last blog post, I described how I transitioned from my government career to mother but I still had that nagging feeling that there was something more. I had just discovered the metaphysical work of healing and magic, but there was one problem.

I was scared.

My fear almost stopped me from doing this healing work.  I found that I had so many experiences I wanted to share with the world, and contemplated starting a blog.  But I was afraid of the trolls, criticizers or that people would attack me and say that I was crazy, fake or a witch.

You know what happened to witches in the past, right?

The Critics Were Awfully Quiet

But guess what? I never got that kind of flack.  People read my blog and sometimes they commented but I’ve never been criticized.

My mentor told me that she never had a problem with her blog and then she said, “Don’t expect a problem and you won’t have a problem.  So I didn’t.

Simple as that.

Not to say that I didn’t have reservations on posting my content, especially with my family and friends.

But this was a new normal for me and I was and am divinely supported.

In my next installment of my story, I made a decision to go on with my healing work and stuck with it.

My Story Part 2: A Time of Transition and Change

The author in 2005, the same year she left her government job
Yesterday, I described why I had to walk away from my government career.   Everything I had tried in the government did not end well, especially my last job where I discovered a male manager was sexually harassing his female staffers and I ended up with a burst appendix.  Now I was jobless and pursuing motherhood.

I took my time off from working by exploring being a home stager for a while, but because I had a baby and no reliable babysitter, it wasn’t a convenient for for me as a new mom. So motherhood it was.  And I was so much happier than I was in my government career so I felt I made the right choice.

The Universe also validated my my choices by allowing my husband and I to pay off two cars and my student loan while I stayed home with my children.  But I always had this nagging thought, I am here for a reason, what is it?  What am I supposed to be doing?  I am here to help but how?

There are Real Psychics Out There

I had a friend who was into metaphysical subjects and just recently became a Reiki Master.  She heard that a psychic was in town and giving readings and both her and I signed up together for moral support.  This psychic reading blew my mind, especially because I finally talked to my father who passed away in 1991.  The psychic was accurate about everything. Everything.

I wanted to know more.  I started reading every book I could find on reincarnation, channeling, psychics, mediumship etc.  I read them all and did every exercise in the books. I wrote copious notes on everything I read.

In 2014, I found a teacher who taught the Tarot.  In this class, I discovered I was a medium and began training with her.  For the next two years, I learned everything she could teach me, including Shamanism and Reiki.

I Learned That I Was a Natural Psychic/Medium and Healer

Everything I could try in this arena I could do and do it quite well.  And it was fun!  I was excited and thrilled.  And when I did readings or energy healing, I noticed it helped people. I could see on their face the difference, they went from stressed to looking happy, relaxed and peaceful.

I knew I found my calling and nothing was going to stop me now.

Let’s say I opened the door and entered it, and never turned back.

Stay tuned for part-3-of-my-story.html when fear almost stopped me in my tracks.

Part 1 of My Story: A Low Point

The author in 2001, when she worked for the federal government
Have you ever walked away from everything you worked for?  After earning a Master's degree and working at a government career for eight years at four different agencies, I had to walk away from it all or I thought I would die.  In fact, I almost did. And thank Goddess I did, because I would become happier than ever, and in time, find my true calling.

In 2005, I worked at my very last full time job for the government.  I earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration because I always wanted to help people and I thought government work would accomplish this (I mean certainly working for a private corporation was not going to help anyone right?). I had high aspirations but the most difficult part?  The people I worked with!

I had just discovered that a male manager in my office had been sexually harassing his staff for years, even sleeping with some of them.  I couldn’t believe it, yet I could, because he seemed sleazy that way.  I told the wrong person (one of his attractive young staffers) and she spilled the beans.

My Female Boss Betrayed All Women

Suddenly I was the one in trouble.  I found something out that wasn’t supposed to get out and unfortunately my boss took HIS side, the man who had been sexually harassing his staffers for years.  I was disappointed that my boss, a woman, took his side.  Not only did I feel betrayed, but I felt like she betrayed all women.

How could she stick up for him?  Why would you protect a man who sexually harassed women?  It didn’t make any sense.

Suddenly I felt like I was on the chopping block and I was.  I was new to the department and expendable...I was still within my one year probation as a new hire.

My boss made sure that I got fired within that time frame.

The Cat That Caught the Canary Becomes the Scapegoat

This job, and its crazy circumstances, was the last of many disappointing jobs in government.  I wasn’t able to help people at all.  I was besieged by rules, regulations, agendas, politics and reputation.

I was a cat that accidentally caught the canary, and I was surrounded by other cats who wanted to destroy me and the canary, at the same time. They wanted to wipe me, and my discovery of their dirty little secret, out for good.  Naively I tried to hang in there, all the while feeling trapped and powerless.

I lost so much power that my solar plexus chakra, the energetic center of my power, literally leaked out of my appendix.  My appendix burst and I ended up in the hospital for a week.  I returned to work but the feeling of being trapped and powerless didn’t go away. I really had no choice but to leave.

Leaving My Job Was a Matter of Life and Death

My appendicitis said, “leave or die.”  I got the message loud and clear.  So I happily left that job and decided to have a family.  I knew I was unhappy with my work in the government and although I invested in years of education and time, I had to walk away. The Universe was clearly saying “this is not the path for you.”

Do you want to know how I became a Psychic Medium and Energy Energy Healer and how that they came to pass?  In my next blog post I will describe the next step of my journey.

This is How the Tarot Helps You Make Kick-Ass Informed Decisions

8/23/2017

Most people fail to understand Tarot readings WORK.  But don’t worry, it’s never too late to try a Tarot reading.  As a professional Tarot reader, I will explain exactly how a Tarot reading works, why it works and why such information is invaluable to you.  In a world full of information at your fingertips and literally a Google search away, the Tarot gives relevant information, guidance and advice for you.

The Tarot is a pack of 78 cards with five suits, used for fortune-telling. The suits are typically swords, cups, coins (or pentacles), batons (or wands), and a permanent suit of trump.  The cards have very few words on them and they are full of pictures and symbols, like this:

Forget what You Heard About the Tarot

For as long as we can remember, the Tarot has been called evil, the work of devil, magic and therefore fake, dismissed by science or simply ignored as mere entertainment or wishful thinking.

But I am here to tell you that none of the above is true.

I am a professional Tarot reader and I have given dozens of readings that were useful, enlightening and emotionally relevant for my clients.

In a world where science is the be all and end of all of evidence and logical thinking prevails, it is  incredibly challenging to prove that the Tarot works because the proof relies on the client's feelings.  Yes, feelings.

A Great Tarot Reading Makes You Feel Better About Your Decisions

How do we measure feelings?  How do you measure happiness?  A sense of peace? Relief? If my client receives a Tarot card that warns her that someone is being dishonest with her and she finds out that it is true, is it because she expected it?  Or because she was looking for that dishonest person in her life?  Or did the Tarot card actually accurately predict what happened?

You know my answer right?  The Tarot predicted it.  Rather, the Tarot warned her about it and she received useful advice.

What could a deck of Tarot cards with pictures and symbols tell you about yourself?  Everything.

Time and time again, my clients have reacted to Tarot readings by asking, “How did you know that?” or proclaiming  “That was amazingly accurate” or “You were right, the Tarot cards predicted it and it happened.”

How Does a Tarot Reader Know All That Stuff?

How did I know so much information about a client from a few Tarot cards?  The card’s pictures and symbols offer the answer, and I, as the reader, decode the meaning of these  pictures and symbols, along with my sense of feeling, knowing, hearing and intuition.

Forget the image of the dicey fortune teller who reads the Tarot, pulls all the scary cards and demands more money from you when you need more information.

Folks, the Tarot is a real and extremely valuable tool to get guidance from your higher self and your spiritual team of angels and spirit guides on the path you are taking or about to take in life.

If you come upon a fork in the road, do you choose a path blindly?  Or do you want to consult  an accurate and reliable source for advice?  I would choose the reliable advice and that is what the Tarot gives you.  In addition, the advice is personal, custom, valuable and accurate for you.

The Tarot Told Me All the Information I Needed to Know About You

I don’t need to know anything about you to read your Tarot cards.  In fact, I don’t want to know anything.  The more I don’t know, the better.  The Tarot will reveal everything I need to know and more importantly, what you need to know.  Anything my client needs to know will come up during the Tarot reading for sure, 100 percent.  Nothing important is left out.

The Tarot will choose the topics, regardless of the questions that you ask of it.  You have now consulted a higher power and that higher power is giving you the answer you are seeking.  It’s now time to listen and pay attention.

Spirit (anything in invisible form, like passed loved ones, angels guides, ancestors, even elementals etc.) works through me to help interpret the Tarot cards in your best interest.  For example, I gave a Tarot reading to a mother who was getting ready to divorce her husband after many years of marriage.  She wanted to know what would happen in her future.  She was a teacher by training and was expecting to return to teaching in the fall.  I pulled a card that said, “A Change in Career is Possible.”  She didn’t know what it meant at the time, but I advised her to keep an open mind about what could come across her path career-wise.

Tarot Advises and It Happens

A few weeks later, the mother sent me a message that she is pursuing a career change!  And she seemed delighted that it came true.  She received a warning and even an invitation to be open-minded about her career and it happened.  This is what the Tarot can do for you.

In the end, what do you lose?  Maybe you don’t want to invest $80 in a Tarot reading, but do you want to make decisions blindly?  What do you gain?  What if you could receive really good advice and save yourself a lot of heart ache in the process?  I would say that $80 was a bargain!

You gain insight, knowledge, advice or warnings of what can come to pass for you.  To me, and for all of my clients, that information is priceless and that's what a Tarot reading can do for you.

Are you ready your personal Tarot reading full of insights, invaluable knowledge and wisdom on YOU?  Tina Clarke of Stargazing Angel is a professional Tarot card reader and she can do readings in person, by phone or video.  You can book a Tarot session with her here.

An Interview with Dr. Allison Brown, Founder of Reiki for Vets

8/11/2017

Picture

I met Dr. Allison Brown at a grand opening party of a local community center.  When I learned that she was looking for Reiki volunteers for a program called Reiki for Vets, I quickly signed on.  I now share this amazing healing experience with others, including disabled military veterans and their families in the Charleston, SC area.

For those of you who do not know, Reiki is a Japanese word that means Universal Life Energy.  It is a practice where practitioners are trained to channel this healing energy to clients, friends, families or animals.  There are three levels of Reiki and the highest level practitioner has the title of Reiki master.

You can learn more about Allison on her website www.drallisonbrown.com and www.reikiforvets.org/

SG: Describe your latest projects.  How did you get started?

Reiki for Vets started in 2016.  We now have 10 volunteers and provide free Reiki at two clinics in Charleston: one in Goose Creek and the other at the downtown VA hospital.  Reiki is free for disabled Vets, their caretaker or significant other, and the VA medical practitioners.  Our goal now is to raise money to certify veterans in Reiki 1 so that they can utilize Reiki for themselves and their families.

Around the time I learned Reiki, I suddenly had a creative burst of inspiration and started to explore my spirituality.  I found solace in exploring and expressing myself in my writing.  I am now working on a book entitled The Journey Within.  I write about the fear conservative Christians face with certain taboo topics, such as psychics, mediumship, angels, energy healing etc.

SG: Who are you helping and how?

I am assisting the disabled vet population, particularly vets with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Any disabled veteran with health or mental health issues currently being served through the VA can participate.  My book the Journey Within focuses on Christians who are seeking love instead of living in fear.

For people who know very little about Reiki, what is the most important thing one should understand?

Reiki draws upon the Universal Source, God or the Creator.  We can draw on that energy, and all humans can do that.  It’s not scary, it’s just who we are.

I am doing the same thing that I did in the Christian church when I was called to create a team of hands-on healers.

Why does Reiki exist?  What are we supposed to use it for?

Reiki exists because the founder, Makao Usui, was able to put energy into a useful form.  It has always existed, but he figured out how to make it usable for the lay person.

Reiki is used to restore emotional, mental and physical condition.  It helps restore balance and peace, allowing our bodies to heal.

SG: Who inspires you?

In her book Big Magic, the author Elizabeth Gilbert writes that creativity is out there ready to be manifested.  I also love to follow Martha Beck’s column in Oprah magazine because she has a wonderful way of describing spiritual subjects.

SG: What’s the most important thing a teacher or mentor taught you and why?

Don’t rely on another person for spiritual guidance; I need to seek it myself and trust myself.  It’s not wise to lean on a spiritual guru.

SG: When was the first time you realized you were different, especially spiritually?

When I was 13, I started questioning the priests in my Episcopalian church.  I brought up subjects that didn’t make sense to me.  For example, I wondered how could God create humans and punish them for not being Christians?

I am a “why” person. I have an inner rebel that’s supposed to figure things out.

SG: When did you decide to find out what your gifts were and how to use them?

In the late 1990s, I was called to be a healer and create a group that practiced hands-on healing.  Six to seven healers would lay their hands on one person.  A year and a half ago I learned Reiki.  There’s not much difference between hands-on healing and Reiki.

SG: If you could give advice to your younger self about your gifts, what would you say?

Stop being afraid, everything is based in love.

SG: What advice would you give to someone who just discovered their spiritual gifts?

Seek out a mentor, but do it cautiously, and trust yourself.  You need to learn, but you must return to your own authority.

SG:  What part of your gift is your favorite and why?  What is your least favorite and why?

I love the gift of healing, and I receive as much as I give.  My least favorite is that I feel a responsibility for not only the veterans I serve but also for the volunteers that I coordinate. Sometimes it’s difficult being in charge.

SG: Tell me something funny about your gifts.

I worked very hard on the proposal to start Reiki for Vets. When I submitted it, I got back a message simply saying, “Yes!”  I thought it would be harder to get the program approved.

SG: Why do you think the Creator gave us these gifts?  And what are we supposed to use them for?

Everything we do on Earth is to learn how to give and receive unconditional love.  Have fun and enjoy each other! Life is meant to be fun!

SG: Why are we here?

We are here to give and receive love.  We choose an agenda before we incarnate here.

SG: What do you wish the world would know or understand about you?

It’s not about me.  Do not be a sheep, choose your own path.  I want to guide people out of fear.

SG: What do you wish the world would know or understand?

Love yourself first, trust yourself and don’t be afraid.  We are all interconnected. Imagination is important, and it’s another form of reality.  Imagination is how you create your reality.  We are here to create!

What do you envision the world will be like in the future?

Pay attention to the stars, the solar system and the energy from the sun.  We’re undergoing a change and loving energy surrounds us. Humans are changing and the earth is changing – we are waking up and will create a better world!
